About the Role
You will work directly with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes, quality, cost, lead times, and delivery. You will audit supplier operations, resolve quality issues, monitor performance, manage supply-chain risks, provide engineering guidance, and support suppliers during new product introduction.
Requirements
- 7+ years of supply chain, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering experience
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA
- Excel and data analysis skills
- Experience with PLM or ERP systems
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including internationally
- Ability to read drawings and GD&T confidently
- Understanding of machining, welding, and forming processes
- Experience leading root-cause investigations using 8D or 5 Whys
- Experience working with suppliers or production lines
Responsibilities
- Audit supplier processes to identify cost, lead-time, and quality improvements
- Conduct on-site audits and investigate supplier quality and performance issues
- Assess and improve supplier capabilities
- Provide technical guidance on part specifications, manufacturing processes, standards, and quality measures
- Track supplier delivery, quality, and cost metrics
- Implement corrective actions and continuous-improvement plans
- Identify and mitigate supply-chain risks
- Support supplier quality and delivery during new product introduction
