About the Role
Define the long-term technical direction for telemetry, search, logging, and metrics systems; build APIs and secure AI-assisted diagnostic integrations; create resilient regional architectures; simplify developer workflows; and guide technical design across observability.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software, systems, or platform engineering experience.
- 3+ years in a technical leadership role in observability or large-scale distributed data systems.
- Hands-on experience with multi-petabyte telemetry data engines and distributed systems.
- Experience structuring high-volume telemetry for LLMs, semantic search, and RAG pipelines.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry and SLO-driven alert governance.
- Strong software development proficiency, ideally in Go, Java, or Python.
- Experience building production tooling and real-time data ingestion pipelines.
- Experience operating high-throughput Kubernetes workloads on-premises and in the cloud.
- Understanding of system performance tuning, networking, storage, and operating system limits.
- Exceptional communication, system design, stakeholder alignment, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience with MCP, anomaly detection, conversational AI, continuous profiling, or multi-tenant governance is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Architect and execute the technical strategy for a unified global observability platform.
- Lead modernization of petabyte-scale search, logging, and metrics systems.
- Design APIs and secure integrations for AI-assisted diagnostics and conversational query tools.
- Develop high-availability regional architectures for monitoring systems.
- Design self-service developer tooling with GitOps configuration, schema enforcement, and quota management.
- Provide technical direction and guide engineers through distributed systems challenges.
- Align engineering groups around observability capabilities and standards.
