About the Role

You will design and develop complex electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical mechanisms for autonomous aircraft. You will own designs from concept through CAD, analysis, material selection, tolerance stack-ups, and drawing release. You will prototype, test, iterate, support production builds and flight testing, and collaborate with engineering disciplines to meet performance, schedule, and reliability goals.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 7+ years in mechanical or mechanism design
• Strong CAD skills
• Kinematic analysis and optimization
• Structural analysis using hand calculations and finite element methods
• FEA analysis including modal, non-linear, linear, buckling, and fatigue analysis
• GD&T and tolerance stack-ups for mechanical systems
• Materials selection including alloys, heat treatments, allowables, and finishes
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Design complex electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical mechanisms for autonomous aircraft
• Own the design process from concept through drawing release
• Perform structural and kinematic calculations and preliminary FEA
• Prototype, test, and iterate mechanism designs
• Collaborate with electrical, avionics, hydraulics, flight controls, and propulsion teams
• Support pre-production builds, prototype integration, and ground and flight testing
