About the Role
You will design, optimize, and scale manufacturing systems for aerospace products. You will lead factory layouts, production-line design, material-flow planning, capacity analysis, greenfield facility planning, and production launches. You will use simulation and lean methods to improve safety, quality, throughput, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 8+ years of experience in industrial engineering, factory design, manufacturing systems, production planning, advanced manufacturing engineering, or greenfield facility development
- Experience designing factory layouts, production lines, and scalable manufacturing systems
- Experience supporting greenfield projects, facility expansions, or production-line launches
- Understanding of machining, composites, electrical assemblies, precision mechanical assemblies, and final integration
- Experience supporting production ramp-up, new product introduction, and manufacturing process development
- Experience leading cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment
- Analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Lead factory-layout development, production-line design, and manufacturing-system optimization
- Plan and execute greenfield manufacturing facilities
- Develop scalable manufacturing concepts through production launch
- Design and optimize material flow, storage, kitting, replenishment, routes, and warehouse logistics
- Develop 2D factory layouts and 3D manufacturing models
- Perform capacity planning, line balancing, takt-time analysis, labor planning, buffer sizing, and bottleneck analysis
- Conduct time studies, ergonomic assessments, spaghetti diagrams, and workflow analyses
- Develop manufacturing standards for material presentation, packaging, FIFO, visual controls, and workstations
- Lead cross-functional factory design reviews
- Use discrete-event simulation to model throughput and optimize factory designs
- Support facility construction, equipment installation, commissioning, and production readiness
- Drive lean manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives
- Maintain factory design standards, launch playbooks, and production-system guidelines
