About the Role
You will set the architecture and standards for shared data models, data contracts, semantic layers, lineage, and data products. You will build prototypes, review designs, solve difficult data-stack problems, align stakeholders on decisions, and mentor engineers across domains.
Requirements
- 10+ years of data engineering or data architecture experience
- Experience working at Staff scope and setting direction for multiple teams
- Experience designing shared data models, data contracts, or semantic layers
- Ability to drive cross-team change without direct authority
- Ability to explain complex ideas clearly to engineers, finance stakeholders, and executives
- Experience working with Engineering, Product, Finance, Compliance, and other stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Build greenfield data foundations
- Set the target architecture for shared data models, data contracts, and semantic layers
- Define and standardize core metrics with domain teams
- Establish data contracts with owners, versions, and automatic checks
- Build data lineage from source to figure
- Guide domain teams to publish owned data products with schemas and service levels
- Build prototypes, review designs, and solve data-stack problems
- Partner with Product, Finance, Compliance, Platform Engineering, and domain leads
- Mentor engineers and raise the bar in design reviews
