About the Role
You will build and operate internal AI tooling for coding, testing, deployments, triage, and observability. You will automate manual delivery steps, safely integrate LLM tools with engineering systems, set responsible-AI standards, mentor engineers, partner on compliance, and measure the effect of AI tooling on delivery quality and speed.
Requirements
- Senior- or staff-level software engineering experience.
- Backend service architecture and shared-service ownership expertise.
- Test-driven development and pair programming expertise.
- Experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting production systems.
- Experience evaluating or building with LLM-based developer tools.
- Strong automation experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain AI-enabled engineering tooling.
- Build observability for the AI-assisted engineering pipeline.
- Automate manual coding, testing, and release steps.
- Split work into small, continuously releasable pieces.
- Partner with product stakeholders to ground tooling in delivery needs.
- Drive AI adoption and improved engineering practices.
- Integrate AI into exploratory testing, defect clustering, flaky-test detection, and test prioritisation.
- Evaluate, pilot, and roll out LLM-based developer tools.
- Integrate tools with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and CI/CD systems.
- Set responsible-AI standards for data handling, prompt hygiene, and production-data guardrails.
- Mentor engineers on AI-assisted engineering.
- Work with security and compliance on regulatory and data-handling requirements.
- Define and track AI tooling metrics.
