About the Role
You will develop and deploy autonomy capabilities for unmanned maritime vehicles and cooperating aircraft. You will lead motion planning, localization, tracking, safety, multi-agent coordination, software integration, testing, and technical delivery for operational systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent experience
- At least 7 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 6 years with a master's degree, or 4 years with a PhD
- C++ and Python proficiency
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems
- Experience in robotics motion planning, behavior modeling, decision-making, or autonomous-system design
- Experience with unmanned-system technologies and algorithms
- Experience with AFSIM, NGTS, or similar simulation environments
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Develop autonomy capabilities for USVs, UUVs, and cooperating UAVs
- Automate vehicle maneuvering with motion planning and safety constraints
- Develop localization, tracking, sensor-fusion, and observability-aware capabilities
- Implement run-time assurance and COLREGS-compliant behaviors
- Develop distributed optimization and task-allocation approaches
- Develop tested software modules for high-TRL integrations
- Collaborate with perception, planning, simulation, hardware, and operational-test functions
- Deploy capabilities to surface vehicles and analyze mission logs
- Research and prototype algorithms for autonomy roadmaps
- Travel approximately 25% of the year
