About the Role
You will own the aircraft environmental control system architecture from analysis and design through integration, qualification, and hardware delivery. You will develop thermal models and cooling solutions, manage suppliers, resolve vehicle interfaces, and validate designs with testing.
Requirements
- Active Secret or higher security clearance
- United States citizenship
- 7 to 12 years of aerospace thermal engineering, environmental control systems, or vehicle thermal and fluid-system development experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Mastery of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics
- Experience with finite-difference methods, CFD, or thermal-analysis tools
- Experience designing active and passive cooling solutions
- Experience with 3D CAD and PLM workflows
- Experience sourcing aerospace components and managing suppliers
- Ability to self-direct and deliver hardware under tight timelines
Responsibilities
- Define aircraft-level thermal environments and thermal-management solutions
- Perform heat-transfer and fluid-mechanics calculations and develop thermal-fluid models
- Design active and passive cooling solutions
- Generate thermal requirements, assess risks, and recommend designs
- Develop thermal hardware layouts and CAD models
- Define and support qualification and verification testing
- Author supplier specifications and drive supplier technical execution
- Execute MIL-STD-810 qualification testing and support airworthiness certification
- Communicate thermal findings and guide cross-disciplinary design decisions
