About the Role
You will build the secure delivery and deployment foundation for Red Cell Federal from the ground up. You will design CI/CD and software-promotion systems, automate infrastructure and operations, and support authorization-related technical work. As deployments grow, you will troubleshoot restricted customer environments, coordinate fixes with engineering teams, and safely deploy corrected software artifacts. You will define scalable practices for infrastructure, configuration, secrets, artifacts, monitoring, releases, rollbacks, compliance, and documentation.
Requirements
- Hold an active U.S. government Secret clearance or higher
- Have professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, SRE, release engineering, or a related discipline
- Have experience building or substantially redesigning CI/CD and deployment systems
- Have experience deploying software into government, defense, regulated, disconnected, air-gapped, or restricted environments
- Understand software delivery, artifact promotion, environment isolation, access controls, and operational troubleshooting
- Have experience with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, or comparable tooling
- Have experience with containers, Kubernetes, Helm, or related orchestration and packaging technologies
- Have experience with infrastructure as code and configuration automation
- Be able to script and automate with Python, Bash, or Go
- Make sound technical decisions with incomplete requirements
- Communicate effectively across software engineering, security, compliance, and customer stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Design and build CI/CD and software-promotion pipelines from the ground up
- Establish secure processes for promoting software across unclassified, controlled, and classified environments
- Support ATO-related technical activities for software agents and customer deployments
- Build repeatable deployment, release, rollback, monitoring, and troubleshooting capabilities
- Deploy and operate software in government and customer-controlled environments
- Diagnose issues in restricted environments where logs, data, or direct access cannot be broadly shared
- Partner with software and platform engineering teams to isolate problems and deliver corrected artifacts
- Define infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, secrets management, and artifact-handling practices
- Help establish operational and compliance practices for federal work
- Evaluate tools and architecture for security, reliability, portability, and mission requirements
- Document systems and processes to scale deployments across customers and environments
- Serve as a hands-on technical owner as the federal engineering organization grows
