About the Role
Own commissioning activities across assigned data center projects as the electrical subject matter expert, from factory witness testing through integrated systems testing and formal turnover. Review technical documentation, oversee commissioning agents and vendors, validate testing and quality processes, resolve issues, coordinate stakeholders, and support operational handover.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data center commissioning, construction, or critical infrastructure delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; equivalent commissioning experience considered.
- Deep knowledge of commissioning levels L1 through L5 and associated documentation and testing requirements.
- Hands-on experience with power distribution and EPMS infrastructure.
- Experience managing third-party commissioning agents and vendors.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, single-line diagrams, submittals, and test procedures.
- Cross-functional coordination experience across construction, engineering, controls, and operations.
- Experience with issue tracking, risk management, and project reporting.
- Understanding of safety and compliance requirements in construction and commissioning environments.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required, including 75% travel.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site electrical subject matter expert for commissioning activities.
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and O&M documentation.
- Maintain alignment between Owner Project Requirements and commissioning scope.
- Oversee third-party commissioning agents and track deliverables.
- Coordinate equipment factory testing with procurement and vendors.
- Review and validate factory test procedures.
- Approve commissioning plans, test scripts, reports, and turnover packages.
- Oversee inspections and installation validation.
- Drive issue identification, troubleshooting, remediation, and closure.
- Ensure static and dynamic testing follow approved plans and standards.
- Coordinate construction, engineering, controls, and operations teams.
- Define commissioning processes, roles, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure commissioning documentation supports project turnover.
- Support transition to operations through technical guidance and training.
- Enforce safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
