About the Role
You will define the technical vision and long-term architecture for high-availability, low-latency cloud platforms. You will lead modernization initiatives, guide complex integrations, reduce operational toil through automation, mentor engineers, and serve as a senior escalation point for critical incidents.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend and distributed systems engineering experience
- Technical leadership or Staff-level engineering experience in high-scale environments
- Advanced expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services
- Knowledge of high-concurrency, low-latency backend architectures, event-driven systems, fault tolerance, and data consistency models
- Ability to lead ambiguous organization-wide problems from inception to production
- Ability to influence cross-functional technical roadmaps and stakeholders
- Systems-thinking approach to 24/7 financial exchange operations
Responsibilities
- Define the long-term architecture for high-availability, low-latency cloud platforms
- Lead modernization of foundational services into resilient containerized cloud environments
- Lead distributed architecture integrations between exchange and global infrastructure
- Architect self-healing systems and automation to reduce operational toil
- Own high-impact technical initiatives and balance resilience, cost, speed, and maintainability
- Mentor senior engineers and lead architectural design reviews
- Lead post-mortems and establish safeguards for platform resilience
- Participate in an on-call rotation
