About the Role

You will design, build, and operate backend infrastructure for a consumer savings application. You will develop account and wallet services, orchestrate and index blockchain transactions, deliver balances and yield data, support funding and withdrawal flows, and create performant APIs for mobile and web clients. You will integrate smart contracts and external providers while designing for degraded dependencies and partial failures. You will also lead technical reviews and strengthen testing, observability, alerting, incident response, documentation, and deployment practices for systems that handle sensitive financial data and customer transactions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience, including ownership of complex production systems
• Strong backend programming skills
• Production experience with Rust is highly desirable; strong systems experience in Go, C++, or Java is also considered
• Experience building distributed, event-driven, or data-intensive systems with defined reliability and performance requirements
• Strong knowledge of API or GraphQL design
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or another relational database, caching, queues, and observability
• Experience with blockchain systems, particularly transaction signing, private-key or key-management flows, wallet infrastructure, and onchain transaction lifecycles, is highly desirable
• Strong judgment concerning threat modeling, sensitive data, permissions, and the operational risks of systems handling financial value
• Experience with EVM-compatible networks, smart accounts, account abstraction, bridges, or DeFi protocols is preferred
• Experience building consumer fintech, savings, wallet, exchange, or payments products at meaningful scale is preferred
• Experience with cross-chain indexing, large-scale data ingestion, Kafka, ClickHouse, or similar infrastructure is preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services for onboarding, funding, savings, withdrawals, portfolio data, and customer communications
• Build transaction orchestration and indexing services that prepare, submit, monitor, and reconcile onchain activity throughout its lifecycle
• Integrate with smart contracts, RPC providers, account infrastructure, payment partners, and other external services
• Design systems that tolerate degraded dependencies and partial failures
• Lead technical reviews for high-value systems
• Improve testing, observability, alerting, incident response, and deployment practices across the backend codebase
• Collaborate with mobile, web, product, design, protocol, security, data, and operations functions to deliver coherent consumer experiences
• Raise engineering standards through hands-on delivery, pragmatic architecture, clear documentation, and constructive reviews
• Turn ambiguous product goals into reliable production systems
