About the Role

You will lead technical customer engagements for defence and security organizations, from discovery and architecture through pilot delivery and business cases. You will design deployments for classified, disconnected, air-gapped, and tactical-edge environments; respond to defence procurement requirements; develop AI use cases; and coordinate partners and internal technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in customer-facing technical roles such as consulting data scientist, forward deployed engineer, deployment strategist, or solutions architect.
  • Experience taking AI or data solutions from executive problem framing to production.
  • Practical understanding of agentic AI and production LLM applications.
  • Knowledge of machine-learning fundamentals, training, evaluation, and retrieval.
  • Ability to design evaluation frameworks for customer pilots.
  • Python proficiency.
  • Experience with assistive coding tools.
  • Experience in or with the defence sector and knowledge of defence IT procurement and operations.
  • Eligibility and willingness to undergo German security clearance under the SÜG at Ü2 or higher.
  • Professional fluency in English and German at C1 or higher.
  • German-defence-market, system-integrator, consultancy, RFP, or public-tender experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discussions on customer calls.
  • Design enterprise architectures for on-premise, air-gapped, sovereign-cloud, classified, disconnected, and tactical-edge deployments.
  • Work with customer IT security and accreditation teams on classified environments.
  • Prioritize customer use cases, define success metrics, and build AI-adoption business cases.
  • Translate defence and operational requirements into AI use cases.
  • Facilitate customer evaluations and pilots in customer environments.
  • Own technical responses to RFPs, public tenders, and defence procurement requirements.
  • Develop and document scalable processes for solutions architecture.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering on customer requirements.
  • Work with system integrators, defence companies, and sovereign-cloud providers to enable customers.
