About the Role

Own the software design, architecture, delivery, and deployment of a mission-critical government program while gathering customer requirements, leading a small software team, coordinating technical contributors, integrating analytics, and managing secure delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years building and shipping production software
• End-to-end ownership of a production system as the senior technical voice
• Front-end and data visualization engineering experience such as React and TypeScript
• Ability to write and review code while leading developers
• Experience delivering software into secure or air-gapped environments
• Experience owning data and schema contracts
• CI/CD hygiene including testing and security scanning
• Requirements gathering and software architecture skills
• Ability to partner with optimization scientists on analytic engine and UI contracts
• Experience leading small teams and coordinating technical and customer-facing roles
• US citizenship
• Active Secret clearance
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• Preferred defense or national-security software experience
• Preferred classified, cross-domain, or air-gapped environment experience
• Preferred optimization or operations research experience
• Preferred government-furnished or classified environment experience
• Preferred RMF, ATO, cATO, Iron Bank, Platform One, Second Front, Stormbreaker, or Black Pearl familiarity
• Preferred Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL experience
• Preferred containerized cloud deployment experience

Responsibilities

• Own software design, architecture, delivery, and deployment
• Manage scope, schedule, risk, and issue escalation
• Gather customer and end-user requirements
• Translate requirements into software designs and delivery plans
• Represent engineering to the customer and run stakeholder workshops
• Drive technical vision and coordinate program, subject-matter, software, optimization, and data-science contributors
• Lead a small software team and unblock developers
• Own release cadence through demonstration and deployment
• Own the unclassified-to-secure delivery path
• Maintain data and schema contracts and parity across environments
• Drive offline packaging, transfer, and secure-side testing
• Maintain CI/CD practices and coordinate security accreditation activities
