About the Role
You will lead the day-to-day engineering organization, provide technical guidance, and ensure projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and process requirements. You will coordinate with product managers and stakeholders, review technical work, allocate resources, support proposals and design reviews, and resolve technical, programmatic, and personnel gaps.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent
- 15 years of industry experience
- C, C++, Python, MATLAB, or scripting and test language expertise
- PCBA bring-up experience in at least two bare-metal, FreeRTOS, Linux, or similar operating system environments
- Understanding of real-time constraints and requirements
- Experience with code repositories, issue tracking, and agile development
- Experience producing qualified hardware or systems for space
- Ability to support multiple projects and production activities
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Must be a U.S. Person under applicable export regulations
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineering team members
- Ensure engineering processes, standard operating procedures, and design flows are followed
- Maintain communication between engineering and other departments
- Serve as the point of contact for technical inquiries and issues
- Align engineering work with product managers, designers, and stakeholders
- Oversee engineering operations and project execution
- Review ongoing work and rectify issues
- Support internal and external design and development reviews
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and development processes
- Review technical accuracy and validate methods used
- Determine equipment, software license, staffing, and training needs
- Allocate engineering resources and balance workloads
- Monitor engineers’ progress and review schedules and tasks
- Coordinate work with managers and staff
- Participate in proposals and trade studies
- Review contracts, proposals, statements of work, technical requirements, and compliance statements
- Approve strategies to address technical, programmatic, and personnel gaps
