About the Role

You will define the architecture for photorealistic 3D rendering and build light transport, physically based materials, lighting, cameras, and image-quality systems. You will scale rendering for complex scenes, integrate it into video and compositing pipelines, and create robust APIs and rendering workflows.

Requirements

• Experience building production physically based renderers, path tracers, or ray-traced game engines
• Knowledge of light transport, rendering equations, Monte Carlo integration, importance sampling, material models, and denoising
• Experience with GPU ray tracing, acceleration structures, and hardware ray-tracing APIs
• Understanding of rasterization and hybrid rendering
• Experience with Metal, Vulkan, Direct3D, or WebGPU
• Proficiency in Rust or C++
• Knowledge of linear algebra, geometry, probability, and sampling
• Experience owning complex technical projects and architectural decisions

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture for photorealistic 3D rendering across graphics APIs
• Build light transport, materials, lights, and camera systems
• Own sampling, antialiasing, accumulation, denoising, and deterministic image quality
• Scale scenes through acceleration structures, instancing, culling, and memory management
• Integrate 3D rendering into video, motion graphics, and compositing pipelines
• Make rendering predictable and robust through profiling and batch rendering
• Design 3D APIs for people and AI agents
• Help hire and grow the 3D rendering team
