About the Role
You will build and scale the core trading engine, developing Java services for offers, trade requests, and money movement. You will maintain high test coverage, optimise fee calculation, order execution, ledger writing, and wallet synchronisation, and research backend technologies.
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience of Java software development
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Understanding of relational databases
- Understanding of non-relational databases
- Experience with Postgres and MongoDB preferred
- Experience creating and maintaining publicly available REST APIs
- Knowledge of message-oriented middleware
- Experience with Apache Kafka or ZeroMQ preferred
- Understanding of CI/CD
- AWS and Kubernetes experience ideal
- Public cloud experience
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java services
- Handle offers, trade requests, and money movement
- Write clean and future-proof code
- Maintain 80% or higher unit test coverage
- Conduct end-to-end and integration testing
- Deploy services into an event-driven microservices architecture
- Optimise fee calculation
- Optimise order execution
- Optimise ledger writing
- Optimise wallet synchronisation
- Research and adopt backend technologies
