About the Role

Build and operate a multi-surface API platform focused on reliability, correctness, developer experience, autonomous tooling, and AI-assisted endpoint development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience
  • Experience building APIs or developer-facing platforms
  • Strong developer experience instincts, including documentation, errors, and onboarding
  • Strong ownership of technical and business outcomes
  • Daily hands-on use of AI coding agents as the primary development driver
  • Comfort with agentic workflows, orchestration layers, and AI tooling

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate Ramp's multi-surface API platform.
  • Serve API builders and partners using Ramp's API.
  • Build autonomous tooling and agents that accelerate endpoint creation.
  • Lead complex backend projects from architecture through monitoring using Python, Temporal, and Postgres.
  • Own API user experience, platform robustness, quality, reliability, and sustainability.
