About the Role
You will build and operate full-stack production systems, from customer-facing dashboards to APIs, integrations, data pipelines, databases, and application services. You will deploy and monitor services, troubleshoot production issues, contribute to secure engineering practices, and progressively own components through their full lifecycle.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of professional software-engineering experience building and operating production software
- Computer Science engineering degree or equivalent practical experience
- Production experience with Python and Node.js or NestJS
- Experience building production APIs, microservices, or backend systems
- Strong SQL and relational-database experience
- REST API design experience
- External-system integration experience
- Distributed-systems knowledge
- Experience with asynchronous processing and message queues
- Redis or another caching technology experience
- Azure or another major cloud-provider experience
- Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD experience
- Git and code-review workflow familiarity
- Secure coding knowledge, including authentication, authorization, secrets handling, injection risks, and data exposure
- Production monitoring, performance investigation, failure response, and system-improvement experience
- English written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production backend services using Python and Node.js or NestJS
- Design, build, and maintain REST APIs and integrations
- Manage PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexing, connections, and performance
- Build asynchronous workflows using message queues and distributed-system patterns
- Apply caching strategies across application and data layers
- Deliver features through development, testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and iteration
- Containerize and deploy services with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor production systems using logs, dashboards, metrics, and observability tools
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across services and workflows
- Apply secure development practices for authentication, authorization, secrets, and application vulnerabilities
- Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions
- Improve code, reliability, performance, processes, and system design
