About the Role

You will develop teleoperation capabilities, operator workflows, real-time command pipelines, data capture, and safety features. You will integrate operator input devices, test systems on hardware and in simulation, improve reliability, and build shared-autonomy controls.

Requirements

  • Strong robotics fundamentals including kinematics, coordinate frames, control interfaces, state estimation, and real-time behavior
  • Experience with teleoperation systems, operator UIs, shared autonomy, human-robot interfaces, or robot-learning data collection
  • Reliable C++ and/or Python software development experience
  • Experience with ROS or ROS2, real-time data streaming, or robotic middleware
  • Experience with human-in-the-loop systems
  • Experience with testing, logging, observability, performance tuning, and debugging across the robotics stack

Responsibilities

  • Develop teleoperation capabilities for manipulation, mobility, and loco-manipulation tasks
  • Design operator input mappings, visualizations, feedback loops, recovery flows, and workflows
  • Integrate VR controllers, gloves, haptic devices, motion capture systems, and custom operator stations
  • Translate human input into smooth, stable, physically feasible robot commands
  • Build real-time streaming, calibration, replay, debugging, logging, training, and demonstration-capture infrastructure
  • Develop shared-autonomy and assistive-control features
  • Create operating boundaries, limiters, alerts, recovery flows, and operator feedback
  • Define and improve teleoperation quality metrics
  • Stress-test systems on real hardware and in simulation and improve reliability
  • Coordinate teleoperation requirements with controls, manipulation, hardware, and operations

Benefits

  • Stock options
  • 30+ days time off, including 23 days of annual leave, UK bank holidays, and company closure days
  • Private healthcare
  • Pension scheme with 8% total contribution
  • Free daily breakfast, catered lunch, and snacks in-office
