About the Role

Crusoe is hiring a founding Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead BMC firmware across its server platforms. The role owns architecture, bring-up, build and release pipelines, security, telemetry, reliability, ODM/OEM partnerships, and building the BMC engineering team.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of firmware engineering experience with deep BMC experience
  • Hands-on expertise with OpenBMC, AMI MegaRAC, or equivalent
  • Experience leading BMC bring-up on new server platforms
  • Strong C/C++ on embedded Linux
  • Comfort with Python or shell
  • Familiarity with IPMI 2.0, Redfish, PLDM, MCTP, and NC-SI
  • Experience debugging eSPI, LPC, IPMB, KCS, and BT interfaces
  • BS/MS in CS, EE, CompE, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with ODM/OEM BMC firmware partnerships preferred
  • Familiarity with Yocto or BitBake preferred

Responsibilities

  • Define BMC architecture and stack strategy
  • Lead BMC bring-up on new server platforms
  • Own BMC build, CI/CD, signing, and release pipelines
  • Drive BMC security architecture and firmware resiliency
  • Lead ODM and OEM technical relationships
  • Own platform requirements and architecture reviews
  • Drive firmware prototyping, qualification, and production readiness
  • Build BMC telemetry and observability
  • Define firmware SLOs and update and rollback strategies
  • Hire and grow the BMC engineering team
