About the Role
You will set the technical direction for the robot perception stack. You will own perception pipelines, define architecture, develop and maintain systems, integrate them with robotics teams, improve reliability and performance, and mentor engineers on robust real-time engineering practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience building perception systems, or 8+ years with an MS, or 6+ years with a PhD
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
- Experience shipping on-robot software
- Expertise in point-cloud processing, tracking, filtering, state estimation, SLAM, and sensor calibration
- Technical leadership experience on robotics or related technical projects
- Strong C++ and Python skills in production environments
- Experience diagnosing and improving system performance with real-world data
- Eligibility to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Define perception-system architecture and technical direction
- Own object detection, tracking, and state-estimation pipelines
- Drive development and maintenance of perception systems
- Partner with controls, manipulation, software, hardware, and product teams to integrate systems onto robots
- Champion testing, code reviews, performance analysis, and real-time system design
- Mentor engineers on reliable and maintainable perception practices
