About the Role
You will own engineering-laboratory strategy, architecture, modernization, operations, and performance. You will design and commission lab spaces, manage scheduling, maintenance, calibration, assets, and vendors, support HIL and SIL environments, establish standards and procedures, and lead engineers and technicians across multiple engineering programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline
- 10+ years supporting complex engineering laboratories or technical infrastructure
- 5+ years of technical leadership or people-management experience
- Experience designing and building engineering labs from concept through deployment
- Laboratory infrastructure knowledge including power, networking, servers, storage, instrumentation, environmental controls, and safety systems
- Equipment lifecycle, maintenance, calibration, upgrade, and modernization experience
- System-level engineering and integration experience
- Networking knowledge including Ethernet, VLANs, managed switches, and routing
- HIL and SIL experience
- Asset management and inventory-system experience
- US citizenship
- Active Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Own laboratory infrastructure vision, architecture, and roadmap
- Design, build, and commission laboratory spaces
- Define standards for laboratory layout, power, networking, cooling, safety, security, and scalability
- Develop laboratory modernization plans
- Implement technologies, tools, and automation to improve lab efficiency and reliability
- Own day-to-day laboratory operations
- Develop lab scheduling processes
- Coordinate maintenance, calibration, repairs, and equipment lifecycle management
- Manage laboratory uptime, availability, and readiness
- Establish lab performance metrics and reporting
- Support HIL, SIL, integration, and validation environments
- Develop laboratory standards for compute, storage, instrumentation, and data acquisition
- Lead and develop lab engineers, infrastructure engineers, and technicians
- Recruit, mentor, and grow technical staff
- Establish procedures, documentation, and best practices
- Manage laboratory equipment and infrastructure vendors
