About the Role
You will design, develop, and implement firmware for embedded components used in advanced humanoid robots. You will drive work across the full firmware lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. You will collaborate on hardware and software interfaces, review code, maintain technical documentation, improve development processes, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience driving firmware development through the full lifecycle
- Strong C and C++ programming skills
- Deep understanding of embedded systems, numerical representation, memory management, state machines, and RTOS
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, particularly STM32 or similar architectures
- Proficiency with embedded development tools and test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers
- Debugging and problem-solving skills
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Experience with motor control software and actuator systems
- Experience with Aurix microcontroller architecture
- Knowledge of functional safety standards and verification techniques, including IEC 61508
- Familiarity with embedded-system cybersecurity concepts and best practices
- Experience with FPGA development using Verilog or VHDL
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement firmware for embedded systems
- Write clean, efficient, well-tested, and maintainable C and C++ code
- Drive firmware development through requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define hardware and software interfaces
- Participate in code reviews and improve development processes
- Maintain knowledge of embedded systems and firmware advancements
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and share expertise
