About the Role
You will own critical manufacturing processes across multiple programs and establish production infrastructure for a new production line. You will define manufacturing sequences, map material bills to operations, build workstations, and create operator-ready work instructions. You will analyze cycle times and bottlenecks, lead continuous-improvement work, maintain process controls, implement engineering changes, and partner on quality, error-proofing, and first-article inspection readiness.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production systems, process development, or assembly engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or a related STEM field
- Experience in prototype manufacturing in a startup or rapid-growth environment
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, composites, avionics, or assembly
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Responsibilities
- Define bills of process and manufacturing sequences
- Map MBOMs to operations, tooling needs, and process controls
- Build ergonomic workstations with production controls
- Create visual, operator-ready work instructions
- Conduct time studies, calculate takt time and cycle time, identify bottlenecks, and lead kaizen improvements
- Establish standardized work, visual controls, job aids, and layered audits
- Capture shop-floor lessons and drive root-cause and corrective-action work
- Partner on in-process checks, error-proofing, and FAI readiness
- Implement ECOs, validate process updates, and maintain work instructions
