About the Role

You will build and operate software across mission planning, backend services, telemetry infrastructure, and autonomous aircraft systems. You will develop 3D visualization features, production APIs and data pipelines, and safe vehicle-software changes. You will validate work through simulation and flight testing while improving architecture, testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Production proficiency in Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, and C++
  • Experience working across user interfaces, 3D experiences, backend services, and systems software
  • Experience designing APIs or distributed services with performance, reliability, load balancing, and observability considerations
  • Experience with aviation, robotics, autonomous systems, or software connected to real-world hardware
  • Applied AI fluency
  • Ability to debug across application, network, operating system, and hardware boundaries
  • U.S. citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or eligibility under applicable export control regulations

Responsibilities

  • Own and ship capabilities across SkyNav, backend services, telemetry infrastructure, and autonomous aircraft software
  • Build 3D visualization and mission-planning features
  • Develop and operate Python services, APIs, data pipelines, and automation
  • Make production-quality changes to the ArduPilot C++ fork and integrate them with aircraft systems
  • Scale, load balance, and instrument the telemetry hub
  • Apply AI and machine learning to engineering automation, data analysis, debugging, and operator tools
  • Validate changes in simulation and flight testing
  • Improve architecture, testing, code review, CI/CD, observability, and technical documentation
