About the Role
You will design, implement and extend high-performance C++ functionality across five equities trading environments. You will build performant, testable and production-ready systems, own features from design through delivery, mentor engineers, interview candidates, and diagnose complex production issues. You will also provide technical support outside normal working hours as needed.
Requirements
- Significant experience with modern C++ including C++11 or later; C++20 is a plus
- Experience implementing low-level, high-performance solutions
- Experience taking ownership of features or projects from design through production
- Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced engineers
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with business stakeholders
- Experience working and developing in Linux environments
- Experience with SQL and relational databases is a plus
- Experience with Python is a plus
- Exposure to low-latency or real-time trading systems is a plus
- A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a similar field is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and extend high-performance C++ functionality across five equities trading environments
- Build performant systems with a focus on quality, testability and production readiness
- Own features end-to-end from design through delivery
- Coordinate with engineers and business stakeholders
- Mentor software engineers
- Act as a subject matter expert for one or more systems
- Interview and evaluate software engineer candidates
- Provide technical support
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues
- Provide support outside normal working hours as needed
