About the Role
You will work with traders, quants, Operations, Risk, and Compliance to understand trading workflows and data flows. You will design and deliver an OTC Trading Engine, define service boundaries and interfaces, and modernize applications. You will build high-performance services, data pipelines, integrations, and event-driven systems. You will own delivery through deployment and production operation, including testing, observability, failure handling, and recovery.
Requirements
- Strong experience building and operating distributed backend systems in production
- Expertise in Java or C++ with working knowledge of Python
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and scalable system design
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka
- Proven track record building high-performance, low-latency systems
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions
- Experience with testing, code reviews, observability, and automation
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to improve productivity while maintaining quality and accountability
Responsibilities
- Understand trading workflows, requirements, business processes, and data flows
- Identify improvements to resilience, consistency, automation, and operational efficiency
- Design and deliver an OTC Trading Engine across Equities, ETFs, Fixed Income, and Crypto
- Define service boundaries, data models, interfaces, and event flows
- Modernize existing applications
- Document architectural decisions
- Develop high-performance services, data pipelines, and integrations across Java, C++, and Python environments
- Build event-driven systems using messaging and pub/sub patterns
- Engineer testing, observability, failure handling, and operational support
- Own delivery from design and implementation through deployment and production operation
