About the Role

You will build performance-critical software for robots and own data flow from camera frames through perception and planning to actuator feedback. You will maintain deterministic real-time control, reduce latency, build low-loss perception pipelines, and create tooling that makes controls and vision behavior observable and debuggable.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building production software close to hardware
  • Rust, Python, C++, operating-system, and multithreading knowledge
  • Bazel, Nix, HIL testing, and CI/CD knowledge
  • Linux kernel and embedded-systems experience
  • Experience debugging timing and concurrency issues
  • Ability to work on-site in San Francisco five days per week, with six days during crunch time if needed

Responsibilities

  • Ship performance-critical code to robots
  • Own end-to-end data flow across perception, planning, controls, and actuator feedback
  • Maintain deterministic real-time control alongside vision inference
  • Build low-latency perception data pipelines
  • Reduce latency and improve reliability
  • Build real-time observability and debugging tooling
