About the Role
You will design, implement, test, and document feedback-control and actuation strategies for autonomous trucks. You will model and characterize vehicle dynamics, develop safety-critical control software, address redundant actuation and fail-safe operation, create requirements and testing plans, and support robust vehicle control architecture.
Requirements
- Production-level MATLAB and Simulink software development experience
- Experience generating embedded C or C++ code from MATLAB and Simulink
- Experience developing, testing, and tuning controllers for mobile autonomous robots
- Experience with system identification, modeling, simulation, and characterization of complex dynamics
- Theoretical and practical experience in controls, system modeling, and redundant architectures
- Focus on end-to-end vehicle safety
Responsibilities
- Design and implement feedback, control, and actuation strategies
- Architect, develop, and test reliable, redundant, safety-critical vehicle control software
- Characterize steering, braking, throttle, engine management, and vehicle dynamics
- Develop models for motion planning, simulation, and controls
- Address redundant actuation, degraded operation, and fail-safe control
- Create requirement specifications, implement features, plan testing, and document results
