About the Role
You will strengthen blockchain consensus infrastructure by designing, implementing, and optimizing mechanisms that improve network throughput, stability, security, and scalability. You will refine validator coordination algorithms, test system reliability and performance, address security vulnerabilities, document protocols, review code, and collaborate on integrating consensus components.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with core infrastructure software and distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Rust or C++.
- Experience with consensus algorithms, distributed systems, and blockchain technology.
- Knowledge of common security threats and consensus security best practices.
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with Linux, systems automation tools, and systems architecture.
- Understanding of networking, architecture, and distributed-systems principles.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize consensus mechanisms to improve Solana network throughput and stability.
- Develop and refine algorithms for fair and efficient validator agreement on block production.
- Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities in consensus mechanisms.
- Improve consensus scalability while maintaining performance as transaction volumes and validator participation increase.
- Create and execute comprehensive reliability, stress, fault-injection, and performance tests.
- Collaborate with protocol, security, and infrastructure specialists to integrate consensus components.
- Maintain consensus protocol documentation and conduct peer code reviews.
