About the Role
You will lead efforts to decompose and containerize a legacy monolith, implementing the code changes required to enable containerized, scalable deployments. You will integrate backend systems with global infrastructure, design and deliver complex projects from design through deployment, and implement automation to reduce operational toil. You will collaborate across teams to interpret technical requirements, influence technical direction, and participate in the on-call rotation to maintain 24/7 platform reliability.
Requirements
- 4–5+ years of relevant backend engineering experience
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Practical experience with AWS services including ECS, EC2, Aurora, and DynamoDB
- Proven ability to manage and deliver entire projects with limited supervision
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders
- Practical knowledge of project management and operational automation
Responsibilities
- Lead containerization of the monolith application and modernize deployment and scaling workflows
- Integrate Bitstamp backend systems with Robinhood global infrastructure
- Identify and implement backend improvements to enhance performance and reduce operational toil through automation
- Own complex projects end to end from design to deployment and make technical decisions independently
- Collaborate cross-functionally to interpret technical requirements and influence engineering processes
- Participate in on-call rotation and maintain platform reliability
