About the Role
You will build and own autonomy behaviors for satellite and missile defense applications from design through deployment. You will develop distributed optimization, task allocation, scheduling, motion planning, and tactical behavior capabilities. You will integrate and validate software on space vehicles, analyze mission logs, and research new algorithms for autonomy roadmaps.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 4 years with a master's degree, or 2 years with a PhD
- C++ and Python proficiency
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems
- Background in control systems, motion planning, optimization, tactical behaviors, or distributed decision-making
- Experience with unmanned system technologies and algorithms
- Experience with simulation tools such as AFSIM or NGTS
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance or higher
Responsibilities
- Develop distributed decision-making, task allocation, and resource scheduling for coordinated satellite missions
- Develop weapons target assignment and motion planning for space vehicles and interceptors
- Develop optimal control, tactical behavior management, and information-aware planning capabilities
- Develop tested high-performance software modules for Technology Readiness Level insertions
- Integrate autonomy solutions with perception, planning, simulation, hardware, and flight test teams
- Deploy capabilities to space vehicles and analyze mission logs
- Research and prototype algorithms for autonomy roadmaps
- Travel around 10–15% of the year
