About the Role
You will build a 0-1 digital assets lending marketplace: design and ship core backend services, implement loan workflows (disbursements, repayments, margin calls, liquidations, collateral releases), and integrate with custodians and market data providers. You will create guardrails via state machines, validation, audit trails, and reconciliation. Write thorough tests (integration, property-based, simulations, fuzzing), own systems end-to-end with observability and runbooks, and improve quality through strong design, code reviews, and mentorship. You will partner with Product, Operations, and Compliance to ensure the product is safe to ship and operate.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with backend or systems focus
- Experience building complex production systems with real business impact
- Experience with high stakes or mission critical systems such as financial infrastructure
- Deep understanding of concurrency race conditions idempotency ordering and partial failure
- Strong testing and correctness mindset
- Ability to design safe state transitions audit trails and reconciliation flows
- Ability to own technical design in ambiguous product contexts
- Rust experience or strong evidence of ability to learn Rust quickly
- Clear written and verbal communication about complex trade offs
- Experience mentoring other engineers
Responsibilities
- Design and ship core services for a loan marketplace
