About the Role

You will build and maintain risk governance processes, policies, procedures, controls, thresholds, incident reporting, and risk registers. You will assess exposures, identify gaps, support business decisions, monitor regulatory developments, and communicate risk concepts clearly to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of risk management, compliance, or audit experience in financial services and capital markets
• Direct front office or middle office trading experience covering equities or equity derivatives
• Experience implementing a risk management framework in a regulated organization
• Experience working with trading or front office business leaders
• Ability to drive decisions across product, legal, and operations teams
• Strong written communication skills for governance documents and risk committee materials
• Experience at a broker-dealer, futures commission merchant, or regulated exchange is a plus
• Familiarity with CFTC or SEC regulatory frameworks is a plus
• Startup or high-growth fintech experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the risk governance framework
• Develop risk and control self-assessments, tolerance thresholds, incident capture, and reporting cadences
• Draft and maintain risk policies, procedures, and the risk register
• Identify risk issues, assess exposure, and drive resolution
• Assess compliance with the enterprise risk management framework
• Maintain ownership of risk decisions
• Translate risk and control concepts into clear business language
• Monitor regulatory and market developments relevant to exchange operations
