About the Role
You will serve as a senior in-house adviser on United States securities law. You will advise on trading, products, digital assets, tokenization, and regulatory developments; mitigate legal risk; negotiate commercial agreements; support strategic transactions; maintain legal resources; and manage outside counsel.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with at least one United States state bar
- 6+ years of relevant legal experience
- Experience at a leading law firm, financial-services firm, broker-dealer, trading firm, or regulatory agency
- Deep expertise in United States federal securities law and SEC and FINRA broker-dealer rules
- Experience advising on digital assets, cryptocurrency, or blockchain-related legal matters, including token classification, DeFi, and digital-asset products
- Understanding of trading and market structure across equity, fixed income, or ETP markets
- Written and verbal communication skills for non-legal audiences
- Stakeholder-management skills
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead in-house resource on United States securities law and applicable FINRA and SEC rules
- Advise business, trading, and operations teams on broker-dealer requirements, trading practices, and new product development
- Provide legal guidance on digital-asset classification, tokenized securities, and blockchain-based products
- Monitor SEC, FINRA, CFTC, and FinCEN developments and communicate implications
- Advise on new business lines, products, and geographic expansion
- Identify legal and regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements
- Support strategic transactions involving digital-asset businesses or infrastructure
- Develop standard-form agreements, legal playbooks, and knowledge-sharing resources
- Manage relationships with outside counsel and legal spend
- Mentor and share knowledge with legal colleagues
