About the Role
You will develop thermofluid and reaction models for custom reactors and use hand calculations FEA CFD and other analyses to support component design and optimization. You will apply models to troubleshoot experiments design tests select process parameters and validate models with experimental data. You will also develop data analysis methods and implement parametrized reactor models in plant level simulations.
Requirements
- BS MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering or a similar field
- 5 or more years of experience analyzing thermal fluid reactor or catalytic systems
- Experience using CFD software such as Ansys COMSOL OpenFOAM or STAR-CCM+
- Experience analyzing experimental data drawing conclusions and presenting findings
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics fluid mechanics heat transport and mass transport
- Experience modeling reactors and chemical kinetics
- Ability to work independently to define and execute projects
Responsibilities
- Develop thermofluid and reaction models of custom-designed reactors
- Perform hand calculations FEA CFD and other analyses to support reactor component design and optimization
- Use models to troubleshoot experiments design experiments and select process parameters
- Design build and execute tests to obtain data for model validation and parameter extraction
- Develop data analysis methods for company-wide engineering teams
- Implement parametrized reactor models in plant-level simulations
