About the Role
You will build and own reliability-platform capabilities, including observability, SLOs, release safety, self-healing and chaos engineering. You will establish SRE standards, help teams design reliable systems, mentor engineers, and lead incident learning and remediation.
Requirements
- Hands-on OpenTelemetry experience
- Production observability experience with Honeycomb, Datadog, Dynatrace or Grafana
- Ability to instrument Java or Python services
- Experience designing SLIs, error budgets and burn-rate alerts
- CI/CD and release-engineering experience
- Kubernetes experience
- Cloud networking and infrastructure as code knowledge, preferably Terraform
- Production-quality Java or Python coding
- Distributed systems knowledge
- Production incident-management experience
- Chaos-engineering experience
- Experience writing RFCs and building standards
- Experience in high-throughput production environments
- Experience improving reliability and performance at scale
- Distributed-systems troubleshooting skills
Responsibilities
- Implement monitoring and observability using OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing
- Maintain SLOs, error budgets and burn-rate tracking
- Establish operational readiness through automated deployments, blue-green releases and zero-downtime patching
- Engineer self-healing capabilities including automated remediation and traffic rerouting
- Build automation tools and CI/CD pipelines that embed reliability practices
- Contribute to the SRE AI agent for incident investigation and reliability review
- Mentor SREs, Reliability Champions and developers on reliability patterns
- Author and evolve SRE standards and production-readiness checklists
- Design SLOs around customer journeys
- Guide teams on system design, capacity planning, architectural reviews and observability gaps
- Facilitate blameless post-incident reviews
- Maintain the Lessons Register and track remediation actions to closure
