  • At least five years of professional experience in rocketry, missiles, launch vehicles, propulsion, or a closely related aerospace field
  • Experience owning rocket or missile hardware from design through manufacturing, assembly, and testing
  • 3D CAD, production drawing, GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, fastening, and design-for-manufacturing knowledge
  • Structural mechanics, load path, vibration, shock, thermal effect, and mechanical calculation knowledge
  • Experience leading complex hardware development or serving as a technical lead
  • Experience working with machinists, technicians, fabrication suppliers, and test teams
  • Rocket or missile propulsion system knowledge
  • Ability to spend approximately 50% of time at remote test sites
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Own the mechanical architecture and detailed design of interceptor hardware
  • Translate incomplete requirements and constraints into practical mechanical designs
  • Lead CAD, drawings, supplier coordination, fabrication, inspection, assembly, integration, testing, failure investigation, and redesign
  • Provide technical direction and design reviews for less-experienced engineers
  • Resolve manufacturing, assembly, and integration issues with machinists, technicians, suppliers, and engineers
  • Plan and execute structural, environmental, propulsion-related, and vehicle-level tests
  • Lead failure investigations and corrective actions
  • Communicate trade-offs among mass, strength, stiffness, reliability, manufacturability, cost, schedule, and test risk

Benefits

  • 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and 90% coverage for dependents
