About the Role

You transform customer requirements into production-ready 3D models and detailed drawings for modular buildings and power distribution equipment. You create fabrication documentation, apply codes and standards, support design reviews, execute ECOs, and collaborate across functions to resolve technical issues and improve design processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3-5+ years of mechanical design experience
  • Experience with engineered-to-order power distribution equipment preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
  • Strong knowledge of metals and fabrication methods
  • Working knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and UL listings
  • Ability to apply codes and standards to designs
  • First-principles engineering problem-solving ability
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • EIT or PE license is a bonus
  • ERP or MRP experience is a bonus
  • FEA or FDM simulation experience is a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Design modular integrated buildings and power distribution equipment
  • Develop specification sheets, BOMs, assembly instructions, and manufacturing documents
  • Create shop drawings, product submittals, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings
  • Ensure designs comply with codes, customer specifications, and engineering standards
  • Participate in model reviews and drawing checks
  • Participate in DFMA and DFx reviews
  • Execute engineering change orders
  • Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Purchasing, and Manufacturing
  • Resolve technical problems
  • Improve design procedures and methodologies
