About the Role
Transform customer requirements into production-ready 3D models and detailed drawings for modular buildings and power distribution equipment. Create fabrication documentation, apply codes and standards, support design reviews, execute ECOs, and collaborate across functions to resolve technical issues and improve design processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3-5+ years of mechanical design experience.
- Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
- Strong knowledge of metals, materials, fabrication methods, building codes, energy codes, and UL listings.
- Ability to apply codes and standards and solve engineering problems using first principles.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Drug and alcohol program participation is required for this safety-sensitive position.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
- EIT or PE license, ERP/MRP experience, and FEA or FDM simulation experience are bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Design modular integrated buildings, low-voltage switchboards, medium-voltage switchgear, and critical power distribution equipment.
- Develop specification sheets, bills of materials, assembly instructions, and manufacturing documents.
- Create shop drawings, product submittals, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure designs comply with regulatory requirements, codes, customer specifications, and engineering standards.
- Participate in model reviews, drawing checks, DFMA reviews, and DFx reviews.
- Execute engineering change orders during product release and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.
- Resolve technical problems and improve design procedures and methodologies.
