About the Role

You will support the management of regulatory obligations and financial crime prevention initiatives in Canada. You will manage client onboarding, oversee transaction monitoring, identify and remediate control gaps, file FINTRAC reports, support audits and regulatory examinations, and help operate AML, RPAA, PSP, and Stablecoin compliance programs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in senior compliance roles within regulated companies in Canada
  • Knowledge of KYB, KYC, AML/CFT, sanctions, PSP, and RPAA compliance
  • Experience with PCMLTFA, FINTRAC, RPAA, and AML/CTF requirements
  • Deep understanding of the Canadian payments and fintech regulatory environment
  • ACAMS, CRCM, or relevant professional compliance certification
  • Experience with correspondent banking, banking as a service, or financial institution clients
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify risks, control gaps, and inefficiencies
  • Ability to lead cross-functional process and control improvements
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Experience building and managing RPAA and PSP compliance programs
  • Experience engaging regulators and managing regulatory examinations and independent program audits
  • Experience operationalizing Stablecoin compliance requirements
  • Fluency in spoken and written French is highly desired
  • Experience building and leading compliance teams or mentoring junior compliance professionals is highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of Financial Crime and AML methodology
  • Monitor changes to FINTRAC regulations and AML/CTF laws
  • Serve as a key contact with FINTRAC and other regulatory bodies
  • Identify control gaps and lead AML, OFAC, and Regulatory Compliance control enhancements
  • Support country-specific risk assessments and remediation plans
  • Oversee compliance oversight, testing, and internal reporting activities
  • Act as a compliance subject matter expert for the business and management in Canada
  • Review and approve high-risk institutional client business in Canada
  • Support external audits and coordinate responses to bank partner requests
  • Lead AML/CTF risk assessments across products, services, customers, and geographies
  • File FINTRAC Suspicious Transaction Reports and Electronic Funds Transfer Reports
  • Improve compliance processes and systems through automation and technology
  • Support the rollout and management of the Compliance Training Framework
  • Participate in compliance and business-driven projects
  • Support the RPAA compliance program and its regulatory reporting obligations
  • Support the PSP compliance program and evolving regulatory obligations
  • Operationalize Stablecoin compliance requirements, policies, controls, and reporting frameworks
  • Oversee regulatory and independent program audits through remediation and closure
