About the Role

You will own the ICARA process from risk assessment through regulatory submission. You will develop capital models, run stress tests, maintain quantitative methodologies, engage with the FCA, support capital planning, and provide clear capital adequacy analysis for senior decision makers.

Requirements

• Significant experience in prudential risk capital management or quantitative risk within financial services
• Hands-on knowledge of MIFIDPRU and the ICARA process
• Experience developing and maintaining capital models and quantitative risk methodologies
• Experience preparing regulatory submissions and engaging with the FCA or PRA
• Experience partnering with Finance on capital planning and forecasting
• CFA FRM ACA or equivalent qualification is advantageous
• Strong quantitative analysis and model stress-testing capability
• Ability to interpret regulations and produce clear practical guidance
• Ability to communicate precisely for regulatory and Board-level audiences
• Commercial awareness of business drivers and strategic priorities
• Ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence without direct authority

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the ICARA process end to end
• Design and run capital stress testing programmes
• Produce the ICARA document for FCA review
• Improve ICARA methodology using regulatory feedback
• Develop and maintain capital models
• Build quantitative risk methodologies and scenario analysis frameworks
• Maintain model documentation for governance and regulatory review
• Monitor MIFIDPRU developments and FCA thematic reviews
• Prepare FCA regulatory submissions and responses to supervisory requests
• Act as subject matter expert during regulatory examinations
• Draft responses to FCA consultations
• Translate prudential requirements into internal guidance
• Partner with Finance on capital planning and forecasting
• Produce capital adequacy management information for committees and the Board
• Provide capital impact assessments and scenario modelling for strategic initiatives
• Contribute to wind-down planning and recovery analysis
