About the Role
Own the collections function end to end by designing recovery strategies, setting portfolio targets, building operational playbooks, leading a collections team, managing external partners, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reporting portfolio health and recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Significant experience in consumer collections or credit risk.
- Experience spanning strategy design and hands-on operational delivery.
- Experience managing or building a collections team.
- Working knowledge of FCA CONC 7 and Consumer Duty obligations.
- Ability to use data to diagnose portfolio problems and model scenarios.
- Comfort with SQL, BI tools, or equivalent.
- Experience in a high-growth or fast-moving environment.
- Strong prioritization and judgment.
- Experience across multiple geographies or emerging markets is a plus.
- Fintech, neobank, or digital lender experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with collections-specific tooling is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and refine the end-to-end collections strategy across product lines.
- Set portfolio-level targets and hold the team accountable through data-driven governance.
- Build operational playbooks for each stage of the collections journey.
- Lead, coach, and grow the collections team.
- Work with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Finance to embed collections logic and ensure compliance.
- Manage third-party debt collection agencies, legal partners, and credit bureaus.
- Report portfolio health and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
