About the Role
You own the collections function end to end by designing recovery strategies, setting portfolio targets, building operational playbooks, leading a collections team, managing external partners, ensuring regulatory compliance, and reporting portfolio health and recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Significant experience in consumer collections or credit risk
- Experience across strategy design and operational delivery
- Experience managing or building a collections team
- Working knowledge of FCA CONC 7 and Consumer Duty obligations
- Ability to use data to diagnose portfolio problems and model scenarios
- Comfort with SQL, BI tools or equivalent
- Experience in a high-growth or fast-moving environment
- Experience with multiple geographies or emerging markets is a plus
- Fintech, neobank or digital lender experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design and refine the end-to-end collections strategy across product lines
- Set portfolio-level targets and hold the team accountable through data-driven governance
- Build operational playbooks for each stage of the collections journey
- Lead, coach and grow the collections team
- Work with Product, Engineering, Legal and Finance to embed collections logic and ensure compliance
- Identify and manage third-party debt collection agencies, legal partners and credit bureaus
- Report portfolio health and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
