About the Role
You will lead the Credit Operations team and ensure credit risk, margin, client classification, and debt-management activities are accurate, timely, and compliant. You will oversee controls, resolve complex escalations, produce management reporting, support audits and regulatory requests, and improve processes through automation and collaboration.
Requirements
- Experience in credit operations, credit risk, margin, or client operations within financial services
- Experience leading, managing, or supervising a team
- Understanding of margin and credit risk concepts
- Working knowledge of the FCA regulatory framework, client categorisation, and Consumer Duty
- Experience operating and evidencing first-line controls and supporting audit or regulatory reviews
- Communication skills
- Analytical ability and attention to detail
- Ability to make decisions in fast-moving markets and prioritise competing demands
- Experience of debt recovery or collections processes
- Experience of process improvement, automation, or change delivery
- Excel proficiency and familiarity with data or reporting tools
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Credit Operations team
- Oversee margin calls, account settlements, and close-out activity
- Monitor and manage client credit exposure, facilities, and limits
- Oversee retail-to-professional client classification
- Manage debt recovery and repayment arrangements
- Maintain first-line risk controls and remediate issues
- Resolve complex credit, margin, and account-status escalations
- Produce management information, reports, and audit materials
- Lead responses to audit, compliance, and regulatory requests
- Maintain procedures and process documentation
- Improve efficiency, automation, and operational controls
