About the Role
You will lead the architecture and design of mechanical, thermal, and EWIS elements for ground and flight avionics. You will grow and manage engineers, establish standards and processes, partner across technical disciplines, and deliver electro-mechanical avionics solutions through manufacturing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 10+ years of mechanical design experience around electronics and electrical systems
- CAD experience with NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar software
- Experience developing avionics packaging with electrical engineers
- Experience with FEA, thermal analysis, and fatigue or lifecycle testing
- Experience working with fabrication shops, contract manufacturers, and suppliers
- Ability to work in an agile environment with evolving priorities
- Ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical, thermal, and EWIS architecture and design
- Manage and grow a team of thermal, mechanical, and EWIS engineers
- Establish technical leads and sub-managers
- Develop mechanical and thermal engineering standards and processes
- Partner with electrical, RF, PCB, reliability, supply-chain, structures, and manufacturing functions
- Deliver electro-mechanical solutions for flight-critical avionics
