About the Role
You will lead aerostructures design for an aircraft program, develop lightweight and manufacturable aircraft structures, and establish engineering processes, standards, configuration management, and structural roadmaps. You will oversee composite and metallic airframe validation, mentor engineers, support production transitions, and present technical risks and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
- 12+ years of aerospace structural engineering experience with leadership responsibility
- Expertise in aircraft primary structures, composites, metallic design, structural analysis, and integration
- Experience leading full aircraft development cycles from conceptual design through flight test and production
- Knowledge of aircraft loads, stress analysis, fatigue, durability, and structural substantiation
- Experience recruiting, developing, and scaling engineering teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead the aerostructures design organization
- Develop lightweight, manufacturable, and survivable aircraft structures
- Deliver integrated aircraft solutions with cross-functional disciplines
- Establish engineering processes, design standards, configuration management, and structural roadmaps
- Oversee development and validation of composite and metallic airframe structures
- Build and mentor aerostructures engineers
- Support transitions into scalable production
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for structural, manufacturing, and flight-test findings
