About the Role

Build and run Somnia's key backend services, including the L1 and node fleet, RPC and indexing layers, product backends and developer-facing services. Treat infrastructure as a product by automating operations, measuring reliability and improving platform standards.

Requirements

  • Strong experience operating production infrastructure at scale with deep Linux fundamentals
  • Experience with Terraform or Pulumi and configuration management
  • Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong programming skills in Go and/or TypeScript
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or equivalent observability stacks
  • Experience operating distributed systems, including capacity planning and performance tuning
  • Comfort operating in high-stakes production environments and responding to incidents
  • Genuine interest in crypto and on-chain systems
  • Experience operating blockchain node infrastructure for an L1/L2
  • Experience with high-performance networking, low-latency systems or load balancing
  • Experience with multi-region deployments and failover strategies
  • Experience with security, key management, HSMs, secrets management or hardening
  • Knowledge of EVM tooling and the Web3 infrastructure ecosystem

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain SLOs, SLIs and error budgets
  • Build observability across metrics, logs, traces and alerts
  • Build repeatable self-service infrastructure through infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD and golden paths
  • Own progressive delivery, canaries, safe migrations and rollbacks
  • Operate Somnia's nodes, validators, RPC and indexing systems while tuning performance and cost
  • Lead incident response and on-call
  • Run blameless postmortems and harden the platform
  • Partner with product and protocol teams on production-ready services
