About the Role
You will partner with top venture capital firms to streamline their financial accounting needs. You will work cross-functionally with product, engineering, go-to-market and operations teams while growing your foundational knowledge of accounting in a fast-paced environment. You will help provide leverage to clients by understanding and prioritizing their needs while effectively scaling CFO services, including capital calls and distributions, audit/tax support, pre/post close services, quarterly and annual financials, and Limited Partner communications. You will also bring transparency to founders, VCs, and LPs by helping them utilize tools such as real-time IRR, real-time portfolio data, and additional data points like TVPI and RVPI. You will contribute to improving the product and software by working with product and engineering teams, and help turn a service industry into a software business through consulting with clients and implementing Fund Administration software.
Requirements
- 3+ years of closed-end fund accounting experience
- Accounting or finance degree
- Experience interpreting and understanding Limited Partnership Agreements
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Understanding of Venture Capital, Private Equity, Fund or Funds, Fund Administration
- Understanding of local fund structures like Unit Trust, Investment Company, Limited Partnerships (VCLP, ESVCLP), stapled structures
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Experience mentoring/coaching junior accountants
Responsibilities
- Support capital calls and distributions
- Provide audit and tax support
- Deliver pre/post close services
- Prepare quarterly and annual financials
- Handle Limited Partner communications
- Provide real-time IRR and portfolio data to clients
- Provide additional data points such as TVPI and RVPI
- Work with product and engineering teams to develop the Investor Services product suite
- Consult with clients and implement Fund Administration software
- Mentor and coach junior accountants
