About the Role
You will lead and coordinate credible, timely research on finance, insurance, and housing policy. You will write policy papers, op-eds, regulatory comments, and blog posts; engage policymakers, stakeholders, and media; develop policy and communication strategies; and represent the organization at conferences, briefings, and other public engagements.
Requirements
- High-level subject-matter expertise in financial-services legislative and regulatory policy
- Demonstrated expertise in consumer banking, commercial banking, investments, or property and casualty insurance
- Strong writing and editing skills for short- and long-form products
- Communication and advanced writing skills, including experience speaking with legislators and regulators
- Ability to synthesize research through legislative analysis, literature review, secondary analysis, descriptive statistics, and case studies
- Ability to work productively with state and federal policymakers and other stakeholders
- Ability to adapt to rapid policy developments and provide strategic, research-backed policy insights
- Willingness to speak publicly, appear on camera, and participate in interviews
- Support for free markets and limited, effective government
Responsibilities
- Conceive and coordinate high-quality, credible, and timely research projects
- Write op-eds, regulatory comments, and policy papers on finance, insurance, and housing policy
- Adapt policy, engagement, and communication strategies to legislative and regulatory developments
- Work with Government Affairs and Communications teams to identify and engage target audiences
- Participate in conferences, media engagements, and policymaker briefings
- Communicate complex policy issues to varied audiences
- Travel to Washington, D.C., state capitals, and nationwide conferences as required
